My Story

I am from Ballinteer, a stones throw from Leopardstown. I live with my wife Jennie and we have two children Pia (7) and Kit (5).

Growing up we had no connection to horses, but my mother loves racing and being so close to Leopardstown was a great influence to us. I have been riding since the age of 9. After leaving school I worked in various racing yards, my life’s ambition was always to be a Jockey, as I grew to 6ft2 that was never going to be an option.

I work as an actor and have worked with Pierce Brosan and have been cast in the Harry Potter Universe film "Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them". Recently I have worked on Apple TV’s flagship science fiction series Foundation and I have been cast as character in the upcoming Netflix Vikings Valhalla season 3.

Regarding supporting IIJ, All my heroes growing up have been jockeys .I have been following this sport my whole life and growing up with friends and colleagues who have held licences, I know how important the IIJ has been to people I know. I have always had great respect for IIJ and felt taking part in the 2024 Corinthian Challenge would be a good way to raise both awareness and funds for such a great charity.

As part of my challenge not only am I aiming to raise €3,000 for Irish Injured Jockeys, I will need to lose andmaintain my weight and fitness throughout and engage in race coaching to understand how to ride a race and the course in The Curragh effectively.

All money raised goes to supporting the incredible work of the Irish Injured Jockeys Fund and your donation is greatly appreciated.   I  look forward to seeing you at the home of The Classics, The Curragh Racecourse on 21st July 2024.

Thanks a million.
